Our apartment hotel is located on the Veddesta industrial park in the municipality of Järfälla, to the north west of Stockholm. This is one of Stockholm’s fastest developing districts at the present time. An extension of the metro is projected; attractive new developments are being planned and constructed with many new homes, schools, roads, tunnels and bridges.

At the other end of the historical scale, ancient human settlements from the end of the Neolithic Age (4200-2800 BC) are to be found. Nowadays, the municipality is most renowned for the Stockholm Quality Outlet shopping centre with more than 100 retail outlets, which lies just five minutes from the hotel by car, directly opposite Ikea Barkarby and the new residential area Barkarby City. Again just a few minutes away by car from the hotel, Viksjö Centrum is to be found with more shops, a pharmacy and restaurants.

Activities

A great deal of investment in the municipality has been devoted to recreational and leisure activities. We have one of Europe’s most modern padel centres, the newly opened Järfälla Padel, in the vicinity. JumpYard, Stockholm’s most recent trampoline park, also lies close by and barely three minutes from the hotel, lovely Viksjö Golf is to be found. This beautiful course has 18 and 9-hole courses, plus a restaurant ideal for lunches and conferences.

Communications

Bus and train: From just outside the hotel, buses go to Jakobsberg and Barkarby railway station, from where you can change to commuter train, to arrive at Stockholm Central Station in a little over 30 minutes total travelling time. Kista Centrum and Kista Galleria are approximately 20 minutes away by bus.

Car: The hotel is situated close to the E18 highway, which makes it readily accessible for anyone travelling by car. Barkarby lies moreover at a junction where the E18 meets the E4. The E4 Stockholm Bypass is also being constructed here, with its tunnels and new stretches, and this will connect the northern and southern parts of Greater Stockholm, when the opening takes place in 2026.

Air: The Veddesta district lies strategically close to both of Stockholm’s airports, lying as it does about 30 minutes by car from Arlanda Airport and less than 15 minutes from Bromma Airport.
